If maximizing your Open performance on Friday is a big goal for you, then today should be light training. To complete today in that way would mean that you simply go at 85% effort and/or scale down the total volume of work. For example, everything that is 100 reps could be cut down to 50 reps and your overall pace should be comfortable.
